What are some considerations when moving to a new city? For the food connoisseurs, especially those living in the San Francisco Bay Area, the quality and variety of restaurants probably factor in the big decision. We have all heard it from a friend or relative of how they miss their favorite deli, cafe, or restaurant to the degree of describing their favorite dish. I know my mouth waters every time I brag about my favorite Thai Restaurant in Seattle now that I live in Sacramento. The "Hot Pot" was my favorite dish that wasn't even on the menu.

Sacramento restaurants may not be abundantly featured on the Food Network Channel but they offer the same great quality and variety you would find in most metropolitan areas. If you are hungry for a steak their are few restaurants better than The Fire House located in Old Town Sacramento. Seating both outside and inside you will love the experience.

If Sushi is on your list you can't miss one of the Mikuni Sushi Restaurants located in Roseville which is a booming northern suburb of Sacramento. Lunch or dinner it is advisable to get reservations as their popularity is reflected in the quality of food and service they deliver. Because of the close proximity to San Francisco the seafood is as fresh as you will find and rated as an award winning "Best in Sacramento" restaurant.

Finally for the seafood lovers like myself I would direct you to Scott's Seafood Restaurant with two locations in Sacramento on the river and in Folsom. Scott's has gained the reputation by being awarded the Best Seafood Restaurant in Sacramento for the last 18 years. Do not leave their restaurant without trying the smokey chipotle oysters.

And the best part about Sacramento restaurants is that parking is usually very accessible and most of the time free.
